Score 86-88/100 · Drink 2018-2024, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

The 2016 Chambolle-Musigny Village includes 50% whole bunch fruit with 30% new oak barrels. The whole bunch contribution works effectively, lending freshness and a subtle mushroom-like aroma to the black cherry and crushed strawberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, decent volume if just missing the tension of the previous two vintages on toward the finish. This village cru is just a little subdued by the frost damage (30% to 35% lost) but will still drink well for 5 or 6 years.
