Tasting notes
(still a bit of malic acidity remaining; Cheurlin works with four parcels, averaging about 50 years of age): Bright, dark ruby-red. Aromas of dark berries and licorice. Intense flavors of black fruits, violet and licorice combine a pliant texture with very good energy. Lovely fruit intensity, clarity and depth for village wine.

The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Village was not really touched by the frost, according to winemaker Maxime Chuerlin. The bouquet is well defined with brambly red fruit, touches of tobacco and smoke in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit, fine purity and fine structure on the finish. I like the personality of this Vosne-Romanée. It just seems to "sing."
About the producer

Domaine Georges Noëllat, based in the village of Vosne-Romanée is today run by Maxime Cheurlin. Cheurlin took over the domaine in 2010 – aged just 20 – and has since transformed its reputation as one of the finest Burgundy wine producers.
