Tasting notes
This wine shows beautiful results in this vintage. Nebbiolo loves a long growing season, and that's exactly what it got in this year. The 2013 Barolo Cannubi is a delicately nuanced wine with blue flower aromas of violets and pressed rose followed by dried berry, spice, licorice and white truffle. You'll really enjoy those unique Cannubi aromatic characteristics in this balanced and elegant wine.

Barolo commune. Quite an evolved nose. A please-all nose. Sweet and playful with tannins dialled down. (JR)
The 2013 Barolo Cannubi is another attractive wine from Chiarlo. Sweet floral notes, red-toned fruit, tobacco and spice all convey a sense of lift before the wine loses some of its intensity through the mid-palate and into the finish. The oak is also a bit dominant at this stage. Otherwise, the 2013 is very nicely done.
Barolo. Tasted blind. Mid ruby with watery, orange-tinged rim. Slightly herbal cherry-fruit nose with hints of mostarda di frutta . Very tight palate packed with grainy tannins. Reluctant to open up and really needs age. Elegant build, but right now a little austere and tannic. (WS)
