Tasting notes
The 2015 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch is totally strutting its stuff at this youthful stage, offering up flamboyant lemon curd, green mango and fresh pineapple notes with suggestions of candied ginger, nutmeg, toasted almonds and honey drizzled brioche. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is completely coated with creamy textured tropical fruits, supported by a lively line of freshness, finishing very long and fantastically spicy.

The 2015 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch is another rich, ample wine. Here, the interplay of bright minerality, savoriness and structure is quite appealing. Sage, menthol, dried pear and chamomile add layers of dimension to this very pretty, layered Chardonnay. All the elements simply fall into place in this effortless, super-distinctive wine.
The 2015 Chardonnay Dutton Ranch is another deep, powerful wine. Earthy and savory undertones give the Dutton much of its distinctive personality. Bright and also quite reticent, the 2015 possesses terrific depth and intensity. It will be interesting to see how this wine develops and if it comes more powerful or more finessed after bottling.
About the producer

Kistler’s Chardonnays are some of the world’s most sought-after. This cult Californian producer crafts small volumes of exceptional, rich and generous, yet mineral and precise wines. With almost the entire production sold directly to their mailing list, the wines are also incredibly hard to find.
