This is a really pure wine with cherry and strawberry character. Medium body, very fine tannins and a racy finish. Beautiful balance of acidity and fruit. Direct and driven. Pure sangiovese that needs two or three years to soften. Spring 2020 release. Try in 2022. 1,000 bottles made.

100% Sangiovese. Aged in French oak barriques and tonneaux, of which 10% were new, for 12 months. Mid cherry red. Beautifully scented. Floral as well as red-fruited and a touch of fruit and oak spice. The oak seems to have thickened the tannins slightly but they are rounded and thus supple. There’s depth of fruit and texture and excellent harmony. Slight heat on the finish, or it might have scored a little higher. (JH)

Lustrous mid ruby. Focussed, lifted nose of pure cherry compote and with notes of dark earth, minerals and black pepper. Soft tannins support plush fruit. Great balance and length. Can age, but already irresistible.

The 2015 Chianti Classico, 100% Sangiovese, is all class. The flavors are vibrant and lively, with plenty of bright red cherry and strawberry character. This is an especially understated, finessed wine for the year. The Chianti Classico is a blend of approximately 40% Greve, 40% Gaiole and 20% Radda fruit. All the elements come together beautifully.
