The 2017 S de Siran is plump, juicy and forward - all qualities that make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years, while the sweet red-toned fruit and floral notes remain vibrant. This is a very pretty and approachable Margaux. The 2017 is very nicely done; the purity of fruit is really quite lovely here.

This is the first vintage of Château Séraphine, bought by Martin Krajewski in April 2016 (although he didn't take ownership of the vineyard until after the harvest). The rich damson fruit immediately has a density to it, fresh but tingling on the palate - an extremely strong start here in a difficult year. The beauty is upfront, as we see again how hard it was to maintain the density over the entire palate in 2017, but the tannins have that succulence that Pomerol does so well. 1,000 bottles only this year due to frost. Matured in 50% new oak. All soil work is by horse.

In the south of Margaux, this property has 36 hectares of vines. There’s an unusually large proportion of Petit Verdot (13%) in the vineyard, something which the team feels adds finesse, concentration and a spicy finish to the wine.
