Tasting notes
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the nose of the 2017 du Glana is closed and earthy with tar, cassis, cedar and tobacco aromas with a waft of herbs. Medium-bodied, it is a little hollow/dilute with a chewy frame and abrupt finish.

The 2017 du Glana has a well defined and focused bouquet with blackberry, cedar and light tobacco aromas. There is elegance and refinement here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity with a pinch of black pepper towards the finish. Whilst not the most high profile Saint-Julien property, this du Glana is impressive and might represent the "insiders’ choice".
The 2017 du Glana has a simple, rather one-dimensional bouquet that lacks real personality. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, moderate acidity but lacks real persistency on the grippy but somehow charmless finish.
Deep purple crimson. A little oaky on the nose – spice and light char. Then attractive sweet red fruit on the palate. Quite simple but juicy and fresh. (JH)
