The 2017 Olivier Blanc has turned out beautifully. Orchard fruit, mint almonds and dried flowers all open up effortlessly. A wine of notable character and complexity, the 2017 Blanc is such a pleasant surprise. Varietal Sauvignon Blanc notes drive this tasty dry white.
The Olivier 2017 Blanc gives up green mango, guava and pink grapefruit aromas with notes of honeysuckle, mandarin peel and ginger. The palate is medium-bodied, clean, crisp and minerally with great length.
The 2017 Olivier Blanc is much better on the nose compared to the red. This is fresh and engaging with apple blossom mixed with Nashi pear and light candle wax aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh and quite saline entry, moderate weight with a hint of white peach and freshly sliced pear on the finish. Excellent.
About the producer
Ch. Olivier is one of the few actual castles in Bordeaux – coming with a moat and drawbridge. Since Alexandre de Bethmann took over here in 2012, the château has been given a new lease of life, with quality on the rise.
