Tasted blind. Deep ruby colour. Somewhat reductive, with sweaty blue fruit and a rubbery edge to the nose. The palate sees slightly tart red fruit with fresh hedgerow, adding savour. The mouthfeel is crunchy and compact. Correct but lacking some spark at this stage. (TP)

The 2017 du Tertre is a very pretty wine. Succulent red cherry, dried flowers, mint, blood orange and spice notes meld together in a pliant, mid-weight Margaux that will drink well right out of the gate. This is an especially elegant vintage for a property that often leans towards a wilder style. The 2017 is one of the prettiest recent Tertres I can remember tasting.

The 2017 du Tertre is medium to deep garnet-purple in color and has herbs, earth and stewed black fruits on the nose with pencils and scorched earth in the background. The palate is medium-bodied, firm, chewy and just a little lean in the mid-palate with a firm finish.
