The 2017 Reynon is a pretty, fragrant red to enjoy over the next handful of years. Sweet floral notes and bright red berry fruit give this mid-weight Côtes de Cadillac from the Dubourdieu family considerable appeal and immediacy. Tasted two times.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Reynon has a nose of warm red and black cherries, plum preserves and raspberry pie with wafts of cinnamon stick and cloves. The medium-bodied palate has a pleasant chewiness and just enough fruit to sustain the spicy finish.
The 2017 Reynon is very closed, even a little austere on the nose, perhaps having closed up since bottling. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, slightly angular in style with a touch of bitterness towards the finish. To be honest, I have encountered better vintages from this estate in the past.
The 2017 Reynon offers an upfront, quite bold bouquet with touches of dark chocolate infusing the blackcurrant and cassis-scented fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy tannin, vibrant red cherry and raspberry fruit with quite a caressing, sensual finish that feels balanced and approachable.
