Score 92/100 · Drink 2013-2022, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Feb 2013

Deep garnet colored, the 2010 Aerope has fragrant aromas of mulberries, Ceylon tea and tobacco over a core of kirsch, dried red currants, potpourri and spice cake. Full bodied and generously fruited in the mouth, it has a nice burst of acid giving it lift and a medium level of very silky tannins supplying just enough texture, finishing long. Drink it now to 2022+. Importer: Terlato Wines International, Lake Bluff, IL

Bright ruby-red. Seductive aromas of raspberry, cherry-cola, lavender and Asian spices, with a bright mineral topnote. Powerful red and dark berry flavors are enlivened by zesty acidity and complicated by candied flowers and anise. Expands with air, picking up cherry and spicecake qualities that carry through a sweet, lively and seamless finish.

From the estates finest lots and a blend of 100% Grenache that’s aged for 17 months in oak hogsheads, the 2010 Two Hands Grenache Aerope is an impressive Grenache that boasts complex aromas of sweet kirsch and blackberry styled fruits that are intermixed with more savory characteristics of Provencal herbs, fresh flowers, white pepper, and roasted meat on the nose. Perfumed, vivacious, and intense, this hits the palate with a medium to full-bodied texture, loads of sweet fruit, and edgy, borderline tangy acidity that comes through on the mid-palate, and even more on the finish. Nevertheless, this builds on the palate, has fantastic richness, and more than enough depth to evolve gracefully for upwards of a decade. If drinking anytime soon, a short decant is recommended.
