Tasting notes
Rosso's 2013 Barolo Cerretta shows the intensity and breadth this site is capable of. Dark red cherry, plum, menthol and spice all open up in the glass, buffered by big tannins that give the wine its distinctive shape. Powerful and driving in style, the 2013 needs at least a few years in bottle to be at its best.

Serralunga d'Alba. Cask sample. Impressively deep, concentrated ruby. Very closed with only hints of oatmeal on the nose and shy but pure cherry. Backward, concentrated and fine and really ripe without going over the top. Fantastic succulence and bags of grainy tannins. Very pure and concentrated and tannic on the finish. Tactile fireworks. Sturm und Drang . (WS)
