Tasting notes
Again there is just a hint of fustiness on the nose. Sweet start and light to medium body with quite marked acidity and some bitterness on the end. (JR)

The 2016 Volnay 1er Cru les Caillerets, just two-and-a-half barrels of it, was much more withdrawn and surly compared to the Fremiets, but it does not take much encouragement to eke out those lovely wild strawberry and Morello scents, the mineralité tucked in just behind. The palate is structured and more angular than the Fremiets, but I agree with Jean-Pierre Charlot that one should afford this several years in bottle because there is substance and structure here.
