Tasting notes
Scents of hickory nut and pit-inflected white peach capture the attention and a silken palate reveals similar flavors. The finish is admirably transparent to piquant, stony and incisively green tea nuances, understated but impressively persistent.

The 2015 Pittermännchen Riesling GG trocken is lovely, pure, ripe and intense on the nose, offering flavors of freshly crushed stones along with ripe fruit aromas. Rich but refined on the palate, this is a pure, piquant and finesse-full dry Riesling with a dense, intense, very long and complex finish that keeps the purity and tension util the very end. A gorgeous Riesling.
Maybe natural yeasts need a little more love and dedication than their cultivated brethren, but if supervised properly, they can produce delightful aromas of fresh mint and other green herbs, as Diel’s Pittermännchen demonstrates. Add some ripe yellow fruit, lemony acidity and a sprinkling of spice, and the temptation to drink this early becomes almost irresistible. (MS)
