Tasting notes
The 2012 Cotes du Jura Cuvée Oregane is a blend of Chardonnay from Grands Teppes and Savagnin from Les Chalasses on clay and chalk soils. It does have an herbal, oregano-like twist, but I've heard people say that this cuvée smells of marijuana! This is still very young and primary, and should develop more nuances with time in bottle. The palate needs better integration, as acidity, fruit and alcohol seem a bit not yet integrated and feels a little disjointed. Is it perhaps because the two grapes need time to marry? Give it a little time.
