2014 Flor de Silos

This time I preferred the 2014 Flor de Silos over the Torresilo from this same vintage. It comes from one single vineyard planted at 900 meters altitude and it might contain some white Albillo grapes, which is common to find intermixed with the Tempranillo in the old vineyards. This is what I expect from an old-vine Ribera del Duero, power with restraint, elegance and balance, a polished mouthfeel and velvety tannins. It matured in a combination of 225- and 500-liter oak barrels during 17 months. Classical Ribera for the long haul. And very good at that! 2,562 bottles were filled in June 2016.
