Tasting notes
The 2015 Chianti Classico is one of the very best wines in its class. Rich, ample and creamy, it is endowed with serious volume to match its racy personality. Even so, there is more than enough Sangiovese freshness to ensure many years of fine drinking. Expressive floral notes give the wine just the right amount of aromatic lift to balance some of the natural richness of the year. What a gorgeous wine this is!

The accessible and satisfying 2015 Chianti Classico is 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo from Gaiole in Chianti. This is a fine and precise wine that puts forth a classic interpretation of the varieties at hand. It also reflects some of the wildness of the territory it represents. This expression ages in tonneaux and botte grande for 11 months and the purity of the fruit is left virtually untouched.
Cask sample. Gaiole in Chianti. 95% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo. Deep crimson. Lifted and with the first signs of oxidation, but this is a cask sample. Distinct and with quite powerful tannins. Very long and with huge depth and yet at the same time elegant. (WS)
