Tasting notes
A delightfully cooling, crunchy, mouthwateringly saline combination of honeydew melon, celery and lime – all intimated already in the nose – leads to a bright, juicy, refreshing and sustained finish. A hint of heliotrope adds allure, while accents of tarragon and mint amplify the wine’s cooling effect and an undertone of wet stone serves as a suitable sounding-board. The stimulatingly tart elements here are better-buffered than in this collection’s generic and village-level bottlings.

Kesseler's 2014 Lorchhäuser Seligmacher Riesling Trocken offers ripe Riesling flavors but also reveals some irritating volatile aromas. Round, stunningly mild and fruity on the palate, this medium-bodied, juicy and accessible Riesling reveals a nice piquancy in the finish. Drink it over the next 5-8 years.
Broad spicy nose with a suggestion of paprika. Really quite sweet in sensorial impact and then it tightens up on the palate. (JR)
