2007 Sassella Riserva Vigna Regina

The 2007 Valtellina Superiore Sassella Riserva Vigna Regina is a powerful, rustic wine. Scorched earth, smoke, black cherry, worn-in leather and early tertiary notes add to the wine's wild, somewhat unrestrained feel. There is enough depth to support at least another handful of years in the cellar, maybe more, but it is hard to get past the rough around the edges feel.
