As usual, this discreetly sweet bottling manages to combine creaminess of texture with alcoholic levity and generous juiciness. Like a mint-infused lime and white peach sorbet, it cools, soothes and refreshes, with hints of almond and pistachio extracts, honeysuckle and chamomile adding high-toned, sweet aromatic and bittersweet palate allure that persists long after you swallow (or, with an extreme exercise of will-power, spit).

The 2016 Oestrich Lenchen Riesling Kabinett Grosse Lage has a clear, pure and fresh bouquet of bright fruit and reductive flint aromas as well as floral aromas. This is a lush and piquant Riesling, very clear and aromatic, nicely mineral, with good grip and nice aromatic freshness. It is far too young and sweet to drink today, but it's promising. Bottled with 9.5% alcohol and 45 grams of residual sugar.
A touch salty/mineral and then predominantly fresh lemon and lime. Cool, piercing and crystalline. GV (JH)
There is a delicate fragrance of fresh meadow about the Lenchen Kabinett and even a hint of orchard, but on the palate the wine shows a concentration and substance way beyond its designation. Herbaceous and mineral elements play a significant role and are equal partners to a crunchy stone-fruit expression. Very compact definition of Kabinett with plenty of viscosity and residual sugar on a tight leash. (MS)
