Tasting notes
Ripe dark cherry, spice, plum and leather give the 2016 Morellino di Scansano its plush, succulent personality. Soft and sensual, the 2016 is a delicious wine to drink now and over the next few years. This is an especially ripe, concentrated style that emphasizes power over finesse. Admittedly, that is a very small critique for a wine at this level.

Nutty oak and ripe cherry. Mouth-filling, ripe, tangy cherry fruit with soft tannins. Hedonistic and finely balanced. (WS)
The 2016 Morellino di Scansano (85% Sangiovese, 10% Alicante and 5% Malvasia Nera) is a cheerful and easy-drinking wine to pair with grilled meats or oven-roasted lasagna. The bouquet offers red cherry aromas with grilled herb, black olive and crushed white pepper. This is a fruity and fully loaded wine that offers great value.
