Score 93/100 · Drink 2017-2022, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Aug 2017
The vineyard that names the 2015 Lousas Parcela Seoane, a plot planted 80 years ago, is located in the Doade-Amandi zone of Ribeira Sacra on slate soils at 400 meters altitude. It felt earthier, and there is less fruit and more mineral aromas. The plot is quite warm, as it is exposed on the southwest side, and it is the first one to be harvested. Even though the wine achieved higher alcohol, it was important to work to preserve freshness. The nose transmits the slate from Amandi, and there is less fruit than in previous vintages. The palate has some dusty tannins and, again, that textured sensation of the slate, with a clean and dry, somehow austere finish. Some 1,200 bottles were filled in November 2016.
