Tasting notes
Mid rust red. Wonderful value. Drinking – or at least smelling – well already. Lots of grip. Dry finish. A bit punishing on the palate – maybe just inhale it at this stage of its evolution. (JR)

La Morra. Tasted blind. Maturing mid ruby with orange tinges. Stewed tea leaves and cherry nose that is a little reductive. A tiny bit medicinal and backward on the palate and with fruit that is a little numb, which makes the tannins look more dominant and drying on the finish at the moment. (WS)
The 2013 Barolo Brunate is laced with the essence of dark cherry, herb, licorice, sage, tobacco and menthol. The aromatic intensity, intrigue and textural depth of Brunate comes through nicely. Deep, rich and beautifully layered, the 2013 offers lovely depth and balance in the classic understated Marcarini style. (AG)
