Tasting notes
Sourced in four grand cru villages of the Côte des Blancs (Mesnil, Oger, Avize and Cramant), the 2012 Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Millésime L’Esprit de 2012 has a deep, rich and fruity bouquet with ripe mocha and seed flavors. Rich, round and intense on the palate, this is a very elegant, highly delicate, finessed and almost airy but also persistent 2012. It is weightless in its great balance, but it's also long and complex, with a lovely energetic finish. Disgorged as Brut in June 2017. Tasted at the domaine in April 2018.

The 2012 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs L’Esprit is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine. Creamy, ample and expressive on the palate, the 2012 possesses notable breath and immediacy. Hazelnut, dried fruit, spice and toasty notes add to the wine’s considerable appeal. The Esprit is a terrific example of the vintage. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. Disgorged December 2016.
The 2012 Brut L'Esprit captures the radiance of the vintage yet also retains striking precision. The 2012 is also remarkably open considering it was disgorged just a month ago. Lemon confit, acacia chamomile, apricot, sweet flowers, mint and sage are all pushed forward. At times, Rodolphe Péters' wines can be hard to drink when young. That is not at all the case here. The 2012 is open-knit, radiant and absolutely delicious. Disgorged February 2016. Dosage is 4 grams per liter.
