The medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Vrai Canon Bouché gives up bold black cherries, warm plums and redcurrant jelly scents with hints of cardamom, cedar chest and red roses. Medium-bodied, the palate has appealing freshness and restraint with a delicately chewy frame and savory finish.
A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc brought up in 50% new barrels, the floral, spicy, incredibly complex 2016 Château Vrai Canon Bouché offers vibrant acidity that’s balanced nicely by depth of fruit. Black cherries, blueberries, violets, and some candle wax notes all emerge from the glass. It's going to benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for a decade or more.
A tight and intense red with dark-berry, blueberry and chalk aromas and flavors. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a bright finish. Needs time to come together. Better from 2021.
