Tasting notes
This is very dense and beautiful yet it’s agile and exciting. Blueberries, chocolate and walnuts. Full to medium body and beautiful length. Juicy center palate of fruit. Mar 2017, www.jamessuckling.com

Good sleek black currant and blackberry coulis notes race through here, flecked with anise and black tea. Shows a more judicious sense of toast and extraction. Apr 2017, James Molesworth, www.winespectator.com
100% Merlot picked from 9 to 15 October. Lots of gloss. Pure polish and precision. Lots of structure. Falls away a little on the end but it's pretty smart. Masses of energy but just a tad scrawny on the end. Apr 2017, www.jancisrobinson.com, Drink: 2023-2032
The 2016 Saintayme is a very pretty, entry-level Saint Émilion from Denis Durantou. The flavors are brisk and refreshing throughout with plenty of sweet red cherry and raspberry character. Lifted aromatics add to the wine's precision, brightness and overall appeal. Apr 2017, www.vinous.com
