The 2016 Lune d'Or offers cooking apple, citrus peel and touches of granite on the nose, though it is quite strict at the moment. The palate possesses good weight, very saline, fine density with an almost flinty finish. Quite backward for a six-year-old white; I would afford this a couple more years in bottle. I wonder if this has something up its sleeve?

Beautiful lemon citrus from the semillon here with gently grassy notes, as well as chamomile flowers. The palate has a particularly succulent and powerful, lemon-citrus core. Concentrated and deep. Phenomenal power. This has great aging potential. A great wine that shows dry semillon in full flight. A blend of 70 per cent semillon and 30 per cent sauvignon. Drink or hold.
The 2016 Lune d'Or opens with apple tart and pear notes with nuances of lime leaves, chalk dust and coriander seed. Medium-bodied, the palate delivers bags of zesty citrus fruits with great freshness and a chalky finish.
