Tasting notes
Score 92/100 · Drink 2020-2030, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

The 2012 Hermitage was bottled late last year and offers a very classic, slightly backward profile with notes of crushed rocks, black currants, graphite, chocolate and spice. It’s certainly enjoyable today, but this medium to full-bodied effort will be better in 4-5 years and drink well for a decade after that.

Mix of new and one-year-old oak. From Des Donnières, Rocoule, Beaumes Blanc. This will probably will be bottled June 2014. Racy nose with real stoniness. And an overlay of broom in spring. Tight on the palate. Some honey, some malt, quite open for the moment. Long and quite rich. (JR)
