Tasting notes
Because this vintage did have quite a bit of noble rot, the 2008 Ribolla shows an immediate touch of musky sweetness on the bouquet, followed by complex aromas of dried fruit, pine nut and macerated grape skins. This vintage shows a lot of extra density and complexity. It has plenty of character, that's for sure, and the craftsmanship is top-notch. But whether this botrytis-heavy vintage of Ribolla is right for you, de gustibus non est disputandum. I loved it.

About the producer

Along with the likes of Radikon, Joško Gravner – whose vines straddle the Italian-Slovenian border – is a leading light of the natural-wine movement. His skin-contact Ribolla Gialla has inspired many imitators, while the rare Pignolo is prized by those in the know.
