Very very sweet, slightly medicinal. Soft and round with only the merest hint of drains. A very famous wine that is past its peak. (JR)

The 1966 Cabernet Shiraz Bin 620 is a delight: poised, precise and fascinating, with a notably un-Australian savoury character. Aromas of rosemary, smoked meats, brick dust and dried lavender are enhanced by a hint of white pepper, making for a compelling start. The wine then becomes seamless and seductive, with dark fruit flavours balanced by menthol and peppermint, supported by a fine tannin frame that builds to an ethereal finish. Overall, the Bin 620 boasts exceptional composure and vitality, far exceeding expectations.
