Score 93/100 · Drink 2024-2040, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jun 2022

Offering up aromas of red berries, plums, peonies, sweet soil tones and spices, the 2014 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is medium to full-bodied, lively and penetrating, framed by fine, powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish. While the 2014 was more flattering in barrel than the 2013, today, it's the 2013 that displays more plenitude and charm, while the 2014 remains firmer and more compact, in need of additional bottle age.

Medium red. Musky aromas of black raspberry and crushed rock. Concentrated, creamy and fresh, offering serious intensity to its dense raspberry and mineral flavors. Bright acidity contributes to the impression of inner-mouth tension and cut. The tannins are present but quite fine on the long, firm finish, which offers terrific floral lift. This superb wine reminded me of a 1999 in style.

(60% vendange entier ):Good bright, dark red. Black raspberry, espresso and a whiff of game on the nose; totally different from Tremblay's wines from Vosne-Romanée, as it should be. Not a fat style but the intense, juicy purple fruit and spice flavors show excellent cut and floral lift. Energetic, sharply delineated wine with a tactile, long finish displaying very smooth tannins and a subtle saline character. I would not be surprised if this very promising wine put on weight with six to eight years of bottle aging.

60% whole bunch. Sweet and rich on the nose. Not the energy of the Vosne Romanée but lots of sweetness. Gamey and round. She likes the freshness and ethereal nature it gives. (JR)
