Bright red. Distinctly cool aromas of cassis and licorice. Juicy, brisk and very tight, with a medicinal cast to the flavors of purple and black fruits and licorice. Tannins are a bit youthfully clenched but avoid coming off as hard.

The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru les Cazetiers has a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose, redcurrant mixed with blackberry and boysenberry fruit, sous-bois notes behind. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy entry. There is moderate acidity here, quite grippy in the mouth. Whilst there is decent body it needs a little more precision on the finish, at a level commensurate with this fantastic vineyard.
