(13.5% alcohol; bottled in April): Bright, green-tinged yellow. Precise, rather cool lime and mineral aromas are higher-pitched than those of the Beaune Grèves. Tight, fresh and laid-back on entry, showing a distinct rocky quality, then a bit sweeter and fatter in the middle palate, offering Meursault-like flavors of stone and citrus fruits. Finishes with a touch of youthful aggressiveness.

The 2015 Beaune 1er Cru Champs Pimont Blanc felt taciturn on the nose despite rigorous coaxing. The palate is more animated than the aromatics with attractive pear drop and peachy notes. There is a decent thread of acidity here, but it cuts away a little short on the finish.
(13.4% alcohol; malo finished recently and lightly sulfited; half aging in foudres and half in barriques ): Pale, bright yellow. Slightly exotic stone fruit and lichee aromas and flavors are perked up by limey acidity. But in a bitter phase at the time of my visit.
