Score 86/100 · Drink 2018-2025, Neal Martin, Nov 2018
The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has a showy and quite potent floral bouquet that lacks the requisite terroir expression and mineralité . With aeration, there is a touch of grilled walnut, but it needs more precision. The palate is simple and rounded in the mouth, offering flavors of grapefruit and lime, and lacks acidity and tension on the flat-footed finish. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Ripe citrus aroma and cedary oak, with a slight dustiness bringing needed restraint. Generous on the mid palate in fruit and lees texture but not that much focus. Dies away on the finish. (JH)
