Tasting notes
The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers is superb, its strikingly saturated ruby hue presaging a deep bouquet of raspberry, cherries and wild berries, mingling with subtle suggestions of peony, orange rind and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, gourmand and beautifully poised, with a lavish attack underpinned by bright acids, its finish cool and precise. From vines planted in 1947, this comes highly recommended.

(from vines planted in 1947). Slightly more evident but not really intrusive wood stops just short of fighting with the mix of red and black cherry, earth, anise and violet-scented aromas. There is excellent concentration to the overtly powerful medium weight plus flavors that possess plenty of tannin-buffering dry extract that imparts a sappy mouth feel to the firm, robust and relatively compact finale. At least some patience will be required and this should reward up to a decade of cellaring. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
