(70% vendange entier ; two-thirds new oak; made from 70-year-old vines): Healthy dark red. Brooding aromas of crushed black cherry, blackberry, violet and licorice. Juicy but not hard on the palate, with strong purple fruit and licorice flavors showing surprising pliancy. Finishes with a firm spine of slightly tough, oak-driven tannins and very good length. This very black-fruit style of Pommard is structured to evolve slowly in bottle.

The 2015 Pommard la Levriere Vieilles Vignes, with 70% whole bunch fruit and matured in 70% new oak, has a perfumed bouquet, a melange of black and blue fruit nicely defined and gaining vigor in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin on the entry. This feels quite solid in the mouth but not heavy, structured and grippy tannin with a fine saline finish.
60% whole bunch, 70% new oak. Perfumed and rather glorious. Great life and lift. Really racy and solid with fruit in the ascendant. (JR)
