Score 92+/100 · Drink 2025-2036, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2018

Good dark red. Very ripe nose combines black cherry, dark chocolate, musky minerality and slightly sauvage leather and game nuances. Wonderfully fine-grained on entry, then quite concentrated and primary in the middle palate, with a flavor of crushed blackberry dominating in the early going. At once brooding and sweet, this wine has the stuffing to support its firm, broad, dusty tannins. This very promising premier cru conveys a suave character that may be due in part to the low yield (25 hectoliters per hectare, according to Louis Meunier) and small berry size.

Bright red-ruby. Black raspberry and spices on the nose, plus a whiff of of leather. Plush, sweet and suave, conveying lovely depth and pliancy to its black raspberry and chocolate flavors. These vines were harvested first, at 12.8% potential, and not a moment too soon. Finishes sweet and long, with surprisingly smooth tannins ("it's rare that Nuits-Saint-Georges has suaver tannins than Chambolle-Musigny," Meunier noted). The most pristine of these 2015s to this point.

Reduction but much milder. The rich, supple and highly energetic medium weight flavors possess excellent mid-palate density and plenty of dry extract that imparts a velvety mouth feel to the firm but not hard and beautifully complex finale. This is a serious but not especially closed Boudots and one that should drink reasonably well after only 5-ish years or so if your preference is for youthful fruit. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
