Refined and round. Super smooth and fun. Admirable freshness that makes me realise this is quite rare in 2015. Graceful. (JR)

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Village felt a little disjointed on the nose at first, quite tertiary in style and requiring a touch more detail to come through—it may possibly do that by the time of bottling. The palate is quite grippy on the entry with assertive tannin, quite structured and needing a little more refinement and grace on the finish.

(90% from the village portion of Beaux-Bruns): Bright, full red. Slightly reduced nose began with a musky leesy quality and a note of licorice but aeration brought an attractive raspberry aroma. Creamy and sweet on the palate, offering good concentration and sappiness to its black raspberry and elderberry fruit flavors. Finishes with solid tannic grip and very good length. Louis Boillot noted that this wine is routinely less minerally and taut--and more black fruit in character--than his partner Ghislaine Barthod's village Chambolle.

This is notably more elegant with its cool, airy and restrained essence of red cherry, floral, pomegranate and wet stone aromas. The sleek, delicious and racy flavors dance across the palate, indeed this is very Chambolle in character with its lacy mouth feel, all wrapped in a strikingly long finale. This is every bit as interesting as the Gevrey though texturally quite different. This too is highly recommended. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
