Deep ruby. Pungent, oak spice-accented dark berry, singed plum and dark chocolate aromas show very good definition and a suave floral overtone. Supple and appealingly sweet on the palate, offering juicy dark fruit, mocha and succulent herb flavors that tighten up slowly on the back half. Building tannins contribute shape and grip to a persistent, dark fruit-driven finish that leaves a spicy, peppery note behind.

Mainly sourced from Wrattonbully, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Bin 407 has a deep garnet-purple color with aromas of crushed black currants and plums plus touches of pencil shavings, bay leaves, menthol and cedar. Vibrantly fruited, the medium to full-bodied palate has nice grainy tannins and a good core of pure fruit with an herbal lift on the finish.
Wrattonbully, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Coonawarra, Clare Valley. Acidity 6.3.g/l, pH 3.62. 13 months in French oak (24% new and moving towards all puncheons) and American oak hogsheads (10% new, 27% one year old, 39% two year old.) They are moving towards all puncheons for this wine. 100% Cabernet. A real varietal expression! Extremely dark purple. Very Cabernet with a muscular structure. A bit lean and mean for now – without the regional expression offered by Bin 128. Drying finish. (JR)
