Score 91/100 · Drink 2019-2025, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2016
(vinified with 50% whole clusters and left on its skins for 20 days following the end of the fermentation; went through malolactic fermentation and 16 months of aging in 20% new French oak): Bright, dark red with ruby tones. Very primary yet delightfully perfumed aromas of blackberry, violet and black and white pepper. Intense dark fruit flavors are quite imploded today, even a bit tough in the early going. Finishes firm, dry and long. This wine will need time in bottle to develop more nuance. Winemaker: Jacques Borman.
