Tasting notes
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Stardust Heaven is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. Super-saturated ruby/purple to the rim, a killer nose of blackberry, forest floor, spring flowers and cassis, the wine is full-bodied, shows licorice as well. It is intense, layered and multi-dimensional. This is a stunner and a great, great achievement, even in this fabulous vintage. It is young and probably won’t hit its peak for another 5-7 years, but this is a 30-year wine.

A rush of dark red cherry, raspberry jam, wild flowers and cinnamon are some of the signatures in the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Stardust Heaven. This is an especially aromatic red-fleshed Stags Leap Cabernet built on texture and perfume, with silky, polished tannins that round things out. There is no shortage of exuberance here, that is for sure. (AG)
