A Northern Italian expression of Chardonnay, the 2014 Where Dreams Have No End is smoky, flinty and mineral driven. The nose is slow to open, but it does eventually get there with some coaxing and swirling of the glass. Indeed, my sample needed extra oxygen before the bouquet started to sing loud. Up to 11 months in French oak gives the wine a sultry texture and toasted notes of almond and pine nut.
