Tasting notes
(from La Violette and Les Quartier de Nuits; vinified with 75% whole clusters): Dark red-ruby. Wild aromas of black cherry, blackberry, sweet spices and violet. Juicy and savory in the mouth, with black fruit and bitter chocolate flavors showing a faint animal quality. Finishes saline and classically dry.

The 2014 Vosne Romanée Village includes around 80% whole bunch fruit and is raised in around 60% new wood (derived from two parcels in La Violette and Quartiers de Nuits). It has a deep blackberry and iodine-scented bouquet with just a touch of pine. The palate is medium-bodied with some dry tannin on the entry, quite spicy in the mouth though it cuts away just a little short.
85-year-old vines. 80% whole bunch. 33% new oak. Juicy and pretty splendid. Quite firm on the end. Tending to slightly brutal but no shortage of impact! Lots of concentration. Real mouth-coating texture. (JR)
