Tasting notes
Bright medium red. Highly perfumed aromas of ripe red berries, red cherry, rose petal and crushed stone. Then surprisingly chewy and backward but deep on the palate, showing a medicinal menthol quality and a distinctly savory aspect to its fruit. This very serious Clos de Bèze possesses a serious backbone for extended aging but is in an awkward stage today.

Healthy dark red. Very ripe red and dark fruits and licorice on the nose, accented by a peppery nuance. Silky, concentrated and penetrating, with terrific subtle sweetness nicely leavened by supporting minerality and firm acidity. There are some very ripe notes here as well but the mounting finish displays excellent energy and very suave, fine-grained tannins.
