Tasting notes
Bright ruby. Ripe dark berries, smoky oak and a hint of rose oil on the fragrant nose. Smooth and broad on entry, offering pliant cherry and blackcurrant flavors that tighten up in the mid-palate. Gentle acidity adds cut and lift to a smooth, smoky, nicely persistent finish, with slow-building tannins providing shape.

The 2010 Rioja Reserva has an organic, soil-driven nose with plenty of aromas of peat and damp earth and also a strong animal character of leather and cured meat with licorice, touches of tempera paint, fountain-pen ink and a roasted note in the background. The palate is medium-bodied, dry and slightly astringent. Would go very nice with some lamb chops. This wine represents the volume of the winery, with two million bottles.
