A Stéphane Derenoncourt wine. Lively crimson. Thick and dense. Dry finish. Quite demanding for the moment! Much drier than most Derenoncourt wines. Apr 2016, www.JancisRobinson.com, Drink: 2023-2033

The 2015 Bel-Air (Pomerol) offers notable breadth and power, but also has enough freshness to balance things out. The flavors are dark, bold and incisive throughout. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, mocha, torrefaction, spice, new leather and menthol all meld together in a sumptuous, racy Pomerol that will drink well early. Frédéric Massie and Romain Bocchio are the consulting winemakers. Apr 2016, www.Vinous.com

The 2015 Chateau Bel-Air (not to be confused with Chateau de Bel-Air in Lalande-de-Pomerol) has an earthy, morel mushroom-tinged bouquet that feels a little flat at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with toasty tannin, moderate depth, grainy red berry fruit, but it cuts away short on the finish. Apr 2016, www.robertparker.com
