Score 93/100 · Drink 2017-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jul 2017

The 2007 Dizy-Corne Bautray is soft, silky and quite open. Lemon peel, mint, white flowers and white pepper are some of the notes that give the 2007 its distinctive brightness and energy. Equally polished on the palate, the 2007 is exceptionally silky and finessed in its tactile impression. A wine of classiness and total understatement, the 2007 should drink well for at least another 5-10 years, perhaps more. There is good brightness in the glass, but the wine’s structure is very much medium in body. One of the things that stands out most is the silkiness and nearly imperceptible feel of the bubbles, especially as the wine opens up in the glass. Disgorged January, 2016. No Dosage.

Single vineyard planted in 1960, 100% Chardonnay. Disgorged Jan 2016. Intense slightly wild aroma of quince more than citrus. Bone dry but not tart, just very crisp, mouth-watering precision. Only lightly yeasty, the fruit still to the fore even now. Intense and long and you'd think there was some sweetness here but it must just be the fruit. Brilliant aperitif but would also go with fish. Should age well in bottle. Extremely long finish. (JH)

A powerful, deep wine, the 2007 Dizy-Corne Bautray offers notable depth to match its ample frame. Still quite fresh and vibrant for the year, the Dizy-Corne Bautray wraps around the palate with layers of expressive yellow stone fruit nuances. Although the 2007 is not a super complex wine, it is impeccably balanced and harmonious, with a sense of spherical richness that is impossible to miss. There is plenty to like, that is for sure. Disgorged November, 2015 and bottled with zero dosage. This is the only lieu-dit Champagne Jaquesson bottled in the 2007 vintage.

From a plot of chardonnay planted in 1960, this has very impressive focus, power and concentration. Smells of chalk, stones and an array of citrus in the lemon/lime/grapefruit zone. Very fresh. The palate's fleshy, pristine, focused and really lithe with juicy lemon citrus flavours in addition to impressive depth and drive. Love the stony, mineral and toasted-almond finish. Brilliant Champagne. Drink now and through to 2022 and beyond. Oct 16, www.jamessuckling.com
