The 2015 Tour Maillet is medium to deep garnet-purple in color with notes of cedar, baked plums and cherry cordial with hints of dark chocolate and menthol. Big, rich and full in the mouth with bags of fruit preserves layers on offer, it has velvety tannins and a refreshing line, finishing long.
A red with full body, chewy tannins and a minerally undertone. Stone character too. Juicy combination of ripe fruit and acidity. Mar 2016, JamesSuckling.com
The 2015 Tour Maillet is high-toned on the nose with lavish dark cherry and cassis fruit. The palate has layers of toasty black fruit, slightly lower in acidity than its peers, and the new oak rather dominates the cocoa-sprinkled black fruit on the finish. It is smooth and seductive, but just needs more finesse and restraint on the finish. Apr 2016, www.eRobertParker.com, Drink: 2019-2030
