The 2015 La Tour Figeac has a pleasant red cherry, strawberry and cranberry nose, quite pure and floral in style with well integrated oak. The palate offers more black than red fruit laced with tobacco and cedar, quite focused and well defined with an edgy finish that demonstrates more nervosité than its peers. Good potential. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.

Glowing, intense crimson that’s deeper than the 2016. Round with polished tannins and just medium weight. Almost relaxed! But with excellent vitality on the finish. (JR)
Tasted blind. Lively note of leafiness. Cabernet Franc? Sweet start and then a little tarry. Very dry finish. Ambitious but very embryonic. (JR)
About the producer
Situated on the Saint-Emilion side of the appellation’s border with Pomerol, this estate was part of Ch. Figeac until 1879. They were an early pioneer of biodynamic farming, having converted the entire estate in 1997.
