The Domaine de la Solitude 2015 Rouge is medium garnet-purple in color with a very plummy nose with hints of underbrush, black olives and sage plus a waft of tobacco. Medium-bodied, firm and earthy in the mouth, it has understated character and a mineral finish.

Low-key nose. Broad and sweet and floral. Lots of fat on the palate. Not one of the most refreshing. (JR)

Olivier Bernard's other wine. Quite a complex, non-showy wine with lovely texture on the palate. Real depth and tension here. Apr 2016, www.JancisRobinson.com, Drink: 2024-2040
